Toxic Encounters

#10
QUIZ: Bias and Racism comes from where?
  1. White people
  2. Chinese people
  3. “Otherizing” people we don’t really know
  4. Racism exists because some races are inferior
  5. Inter-culture ignorance and intolerance
Bias of all sorts is part of human nature. It exists equally in all cultures. The majority ethnicity in any group will always promote bias against the minority because it gives them more control. The media will always hype that polarization because … more revenue! and serves the purpose of the governing elite.

The only solution is to #1 - Take the Sys No Pledge – No to Polarization; No to Stereotypes; No to False Memes! #2 find those opposed to bias, no matter their skin color, and eliminate racist policies and symbols together.

Answer: #3 and #5 are correct - “Otherizing” people we don’t really know, and Inter-culture ignorance and intolerance

Good message. I've seen articles in newspapers, and have heard interviews on public radio on this subject, which shows that the issue is being addressed.

My gut response was #3. So many "otherize' and put people into groups simply because they don't know or assume everyone in that "group" are all the same. Happens way too often and yes, inter-culture ignorance and intolerance are key contributors as well. Always a sensitive subject but interesting to talk about.
