Intelligence vs Destiny

QUIZ: IQ tests measure what exactly?
  1. Nothing useful at all
  2. Talent in analogies, patterns, and logic
  3. They are racist favoring white people
  4. Creative potential
  5. How smart you are
Are IQ tests worthless? Let’s look systemically…

Intelligence comes in four flavors.
  • Standard IQ tests measure analogies, patterns, logic, and problem-solving, so they're valid for measuring those cognitive capacities. They are not racist.
  • EQ measures social and emotional intelligence, which is the brain's capacity to distinguish the meaning behind patterns of human behavior.
  • CIQ measures “right-brain”creativity, which enables athletes, musicians, dancers and artists to realize that systemic genius of finding undiscovered patterns (creativity) of human appeal, whether on the football field or the canvas.
  • Lastly, Systems IQ is the ability to see critical connections between the many elements of a system.
From the womb onward, a child’s brain learns to specialize in one of these forms of intelligence, amplified by social surroundings. Intelligence of all forms may start with an innate pre-disposition toward one or another, but any can be developed through training and practice. Thus, intelligence is expressed in many forms, all of which are valid but yield different outcomes.

I agree, up to a point. One may try to train a child in certain categories. However, I have witnessed children who have been trained, say, in music (my expertise), with a variety of results. Sometimes the training will pay off, and the child develops h/h musical abilities, often lasting an entire lifetime. Other times, the training will fail after only a short period, when the child discovers that h/s is averse to practicing, and resents the parental or teacher demands on h/h time, resulting in resentment and refusal. I believe we are born (read reborn) with certain proclivities, preferences and abilities, and training either enhances those, or eventually results in negativity.

I do notice many people who do not "test well" on standardized tests or tests at school, but who can maneuver many different social interactions with speed and grace. A task that can be quite difficult for others such as people who are very "book smart".

Agreed, standard IQ tests measure cognitive capacities including analogies, patterns, logic, and problem-solving. This is where generative AI (aka machine learning) excels so soon even those who do not measure well here can be augmented.

The rare few can actually do well at more than one form of IQ (i.e. cognitive + emotional).
